Concept

 

The English Club is an exclusivelly English program for children of early school age. It is not an ordinary language course of English, but a authentic time spent in English-language environment for a longer period of time throughout the whole afternoon. Children improve their English in a natural way during organized activities and also free play. Respecting our original concept of outdoor education, the afternoon always includes some time spent outdoors, no matter the weather.

 

The project of English Club arose from the demand of parents of children leaving our English Outdoor Preschools to attend regular primary schools and from their fear of losing their knowledge of English language. It is primarily intended for children who already understand English at least at a basic level and can thus take part in a purely English-language program without any worries. (for example, they left an English preschool, returned from abroad, studied English at primary school for at least one year, etc.). The group is also intended for children who are bilingual or native speakers and who lack contact with peers in English –they can spend the afternoon in the group in their monther tongue environment.

We communicate exclusively in English in the Club, everyone according to own knowledge and abilities, and we adjust the teaching style and selection of games and activities accordingly. Small groups of a maximum of six children per teacher will guarantee an individual approach so that each child can fully use own potential during the English Club. We teach English in a natural way through listening, communication, playing together and working on projects, not by lecturing or testing.

Practical Information

​

English Club is offered Monday - Thursday in the afternoon (14:00 - 16:30). 

It is possible to choose one afternoon a week or to participate several days.

 

We are based at the address Na Hrázi 11 in Prague 8 - Libeň, close to the Palmovka metro station.

​

The payment is per semester (September-January; February-June), the price is CZK 4900 per one afternoon a week.

We offer a discount for siblings or for attentace multiple days a week, the price is then CZK 4500.

We are currently accepting applications for 1st semester 2023/24, we start lessons from 25th September.

The groups are opened from the minimum of 4 children - we now confirm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday​
